You may have noticed thealbanydevils.com has been in and out of the penalty box since the weekend. We are in the midst of upgrading our server to make the site more powerful and more reliable. The maintenance is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours.

Preseason opener

The Albany Devils travel to face the Hartford Wolf Pack in a preseason game tonight at 7 pm at Champions Skate Zone in Cromwell, CT. Fans can follow the action on twitter (@albanydevils)

Whitney gearing up

Albany left winger Joe Whitney has led the Devils in scoring during each of the last three seasons. Entering his fourth year, he is reunited with his centerman from last season, Scott Timmins. Newcomer Paul Thompson is slotted on the right side.

In New Jersey

The Devils NHL camp, Jon Merrill has resumed practicing and could see preseason action this week … The Devils released defenseman Tomas Kaberle and forward Ruslan Fedotenko from their tryouts … Tomorrow New Jersey hosts the New York Islanders for a 7 pm preseason game at “The Rock”
